CORE INITIATIVES
Keep Orange Safe
Public safety must remain a fundamental responsibility of City Hall.
Brandy believes Orange should remain a city where families feel safe in their neighborhoods, businesses can thrive, and first responders have the resources necessary to serve the community effectively. Having completed the Citizens Police Academy and supported the Orange City Firefighters Foundation, Brandy understands the importance of strong relationships between residents, law enforcement, firefighters, and city leadership.
Priorities
Support Orange police officers, firefighters, and first responders.
Prioritize emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
Address neighborhood safety concerns before they become larger problems.
Strengthen communication between residents, public safety agencies, and City Hall.
Protect Taxpayer Dollars & Demand Fiscal Responsibility
Every city dollar belongs to the taxpayers first.
Residents deserve to know how their money is being spent and whether those investments are producing results. Brandy will approach the city budget with the same discipline required of families and small businesses: understand the numbers, establish priorities, eliminate unnecessary spending, and plan for the future.
Priorities
Demand transparency in city spending and major financial decisions.
Prioritize essential services and infrastructure.
Evaluate spending based on measurable community benefit.
Plan responsibly for long-term obligations and infrastructure needs.
Protect taxpayers from wasteful or poorly planned expenditures.
Protect Orange’s Character
& Historic Neighborhoods
Preserving what makes Orange feel like home.
Orange’s historic neighborhoods, Old Towne, the Plaza, and established communities are part of what makes our city special. Growth should respect the character, architecture, and quality of life residents have worked generations to preserve. Brandy will advocate for responsible development, thoughtful land-use decisions, preservation of historic resources, and meaningful community input before projects fundamentally change our neighborhoods.
Priorities
Protect the character of established neighborhoods and Old Towne.
Support responsible development that complements the surrounding community.
Preserve historic buildings, streetscapes, and community landmarks.
Give residents a meaningful voice in major development decisions.
Make City Hall Accountable, Accessible & Responsive
Our Orange. Our Voice.
Residents should never feel disconnected from the decisions being made on their behalf.
After attending nearly every City Council meeting for more than two years, Brandy understands how important transparency, participation, and communication are to effective local government.
As a Councilwoman, she will work to make City Hall more accessible and ensure residents have opportunities to understand important issues before major decisions are made.
Priorities
Communicate major city issues in clear, understandable language.
Encourage public participation before consequential decisions are finalized.
Improve transparency around projects, spending, development, and policy.
Respond to residents and neighborhood concerns with urgency.
Bring the community’s voice directly into City Hall.
Support Local Businesses & a Strong Local Economy
Strong local businesses create a stronger Orange.
As a small business owner herself, Brandy understands payroll, rising costs, regulations, customer service, and the responsibility that comes with building a business.
City Hall should make it easier—not unnecessarily harder—for entrepreneurs and established businesses to invest in Orange.
Priorities
Reduce unnecessary barriers for local businesses.
Encourage responsible economic development that benefits Orange residents.
Support independent businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the city.
Strengthen the Plaza and other commercial districts while preserving their identity.
Promote Orange as a destination to shop, dine, visit, and invest.
Preserve Community Events, Traditions & Quality of Life
Orange is more than a collection of streets and buildings—it is a community.
Events, traditions, parks, public spaces, and local organizations create the connections that make people proud to call Orange home.
When Treats in the Streets was cancelled, Brandy helped raise more than $40,000 in five weeks and stepped forward to keep the tradition alive through a privately produced event. That same determination will guide her approach at City Hall.
Priorities
Protect and strengthen Orange’s community traditions.
Support partnerships between the city, residents, nonprofits, and businesses.
Maintain parks, public spaces, streets, and neighborhood amenities.
Encourage family-friendly events that bring residents and businesses together.
Find creative solutions when budget constraints threaten valued community programs.
Our Orange. Our Voice.
Orange deserves leadership that understands what makes this city worth protecting and is willing to do the work required to protect it. For Brandy Romero, these initiatives come back to one principle: preserve what works, address what doesn’t, and make decisions with Orange residents and future generations in mind. Protect our neighborhoods. Support our first responders. Strengthen local businesses. Respect taxpayer dollars. Preserve our traditions.
Give residents a voice!
